Body Lifts & Tucks
What is a body lift?
A body lift addresses and improves the shape and tone of the tissues that require additional needed support whether due to aging or weight loss. Excess sagging fat and skin are removed and the areas are repaired in order to improve the contour.
A body lift may address these areas:
- Abdominal area – locally or extending around the sides and into the lower back area
- Buttocks that may be low, flat or shaped unevenly
- Thigh – the inner, outer, or posterior thigh, or the thigh’s circumference
Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty)
Tummy tuck surgery, also known as abdominoplasty, removes excess fat and skin from the abdomen and creates a profile that is smoother and firmer. A flat abdomen is something many of us strive for through exercise and weight control. Sometimes these methods cannot achieve our goals. Even individuals of normal body weight and proportion can develop an abdomen that protrudes or is loose and sagging.
Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reduces excess sagging skin of the upper arm and tightens the underlying supportive tissue. Fluctuations in weight, growing older, and heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping appearance, a condition that often cannot be corrected through exercise alone.
What a body lift won't do
Body lifts are not intended strictly for the removal of excess fat. Liposuction alone can remove fat deposits where skin has good elasticity. In cases where skin elasticity is poor, a combination of liposuction and body lift techniques may be recommended for optimal body contouring results.
